A detailed methodological framework will be developed as a step in creating (online) youth course, where included will be a Handbook for youth workers consisting of educational materials for the GenZ4GD course. This project result aims to introduce young people to topics related to sustainable development, ecology, etc.
Part of the course will be the design and implementation of local actions in the community where participants will have the opportunity to immediately apply what they have learned and gather others from their environment to do the same.
Local actions are planned to directly affect the goals of sustainable development and thus involve young people from local communities to act globally and improve the quality of their lives, but also the lives of their families, friends, and peers. Also, professionals who work with young people are involved in the whole process, so that they can contribute their knowledge to the quality of results, but also get a new tool for their further action.
The target groups of this IO are therefore the youth workers and young people, who will obtain new knowledge of sustainable development topics, and who are expected to influence the positive development of their community.
The handbook themes cover 7 broad topics in the form of didactic modules each divided into various units. These modules are:
- Sustainable Development
- Sustainable development goals and their importance
- The 3 Pillars of Sustainability
- Barriers affecting effective Sustainable Development
- How are young people contributing to SDGs
- European Green Deal at local level
- Local actions for community development
For each module, during the LTTA in Malta, the consortium developed detailed guidelines for youth workers on how to implement each module with young people. More guidelines for each module:
